Context: not rant, I'm not mad, I just want some advice. I applied for a remote position in a company in Sao Paulo. The description said Fluent Portuguese and intermediate English was mandatory. It also stated you'd be talking to customers from all over the world, but it didn't mention Spanish. My resumé was quite honest. It says:
- Portuguese -> fluent
- English -> fluent
- German -> conversational
- Spanish -> mildly conversational
So I'm surprised that I got a mail from a Barcelona recruiter (although I sent my resumé to Sao Paulo's office). The interview will be in Spanish.
Now, I can speak Spanish. But I'm just mildly conversational, it was enough for me to talk to hispanic people in college and get my point across, but I''d really like to do that interview in English or Portuguese.
Should I ask about it?
