Howdy friends,
I am looking to unionize the drivers for a local version of food delivery services like Uber Eats and Door Dash. I live in Ontario Canada and have spoken to CUPW a few weeks ago and will be speaking to someone from UFCW later today on the phone.
Can one shop for unions to find which one is best suited for what you do? Both of these unions seem to represent workers of similar job descriptions but I would like to work with the one that would help us as drivers the most. Does anyone have experience with either of these unions or know what questions I should be asking?
I know recently UFCW came to an agreement with Uber and they now represent drivers in the Toronto area recently but it seems kind of shady. However I am not well versed in this sort of stuff to know if my gut reaction is true or not.
