Please let me know if I should take this question to a different sub. So we recently voted for the following: 3% pay increase; a bonus; change in terminology for our current positions. This is my first experience with a union, so I'm lost in the sauce. The inflation in my area is over 8% and that 3% increase is less than a dollar per hour. Additionally, the revamping of the position title is ridiculous and doesn't actually do what we wanted (I would rather not go into detail on that particular issue). Rumor has it my whole team and our counterparts in a neighboring town (same unit, different office) are all unhappy. So it was recommended to me that we band together and write some sort of statement outlining why we deserve better and more. Is this an appeal? Can we even appeal since we already voted yes? Should we reach out to our union rep? I am not sure what to do.
