One of the banks charged off my debts and closed my bank account with them this week. The other bank has been calling 3x a day this week so I assume they will do the same since I stopped payment the same month. Each card balance was about $3,500. I guess the collection calls will start soon.
The past six months weren't as bad as I thought. I did get 2 calls a day from 8xx numbers. I got married, my husband supports my plan and it does not affect his credit. I was busy gardening and slept great and now I'm very happy I followed through. I do have one other card I am current on, for now.
I am on the more extreme end of things and very privileged to be able to do this. I already know I'm scorched earth, crazy, lazy, whatever else you wish to call me, go ahead. Many questions are already answered in the original post. I hope this plays out as I have researched it, so banks can start to lose their hold on the population. I don't give a fuck about having a bad credit score. I only wish I did this sooner.
