Update: got a job as a high school history teacher. Quit before my first day.

I didn’t want to do that, I actually have a passion for education and teaching. I’ve worked at a small charter school in the past and this school I got hired at was a large public high school. I’ve subbed at a large high school but I’ve never actually worked full time in one. Unfortunately I started to have a lot of anxiety about school shootings and things started to go downhill. So I figured if I’m not in a good place mentally before I start, I’m not going to be able to give that 100% to the students and that’s not acceptable to me, So I called the assistant principal this morning and told her I wouldn’t be starting. I know I would not be satisfied with whatever I decided to do and there’s a part of me kicking myself for doing it but to me my mental health comes first.
