An update to this post: Why I'm unhappy with my 18% raise
Turns out that my company recognized I needed a 30%+ raise. HR literally told me that if someone was due a 30%+ raise, they bumped us down on our job performance scale to get a smaller raise. Their reasoning was that they needed to be fiscally responsible and make their budgets work.
Obviously, I'm fairly upset that my company actually recognized I was underpaid and still decided not to pay me properly.
