Upper Managers and the great disconnect. When directors get bored after leadership retreats.

Have to vent a bit. Something I've noticed along the way. The higher up the totem pole, the more disconnected from the actual business you become. I think there's a certain point where upper managers need to keep out of the affairs of other departments. We lucked out that we convinced this toxic “girl-boss” to sit down and try out the workflow she demanded vs the one we were doing before(it took the entire senior technician team to threaten to walk before she listened lol), and she finally agreed the old way was better…for now. I'm sure she'll get bored and come wandering back over in a week or two (one of those “If I'm not constantly making change, I don't feel like I'm really working” people).
