If you’re from the US, you probably won’t be surprised by these things but here are some observations from over the years:
-never worked at a place with sick time, so people would spread their viruses to the whole office and we would work through it
-5 days off for a guy who had his first child
-worked at a place with 0 time off
-fired someone for having cancer
-at a place with paid healthcare I overheard an HR manager say “we will not be hiring someone old because I don’t want to have to pay a higher amount”
-worked at a place that didn’t have lunch or breaks (paid or unpaid)
