I originally posted this for advice. Now it’s just to rant.
My partner was forced to resign today under the guise that she would receive her accrued PTO. The company prides itself on not firing employees (hence the forced resignation) so I'm guessing this is just standard practice so they can save money. It was clearly stated by my partner before she resigned that she wished for all her PTO hours to be paid out in her last paycheck. Once they convinced her the (forced) resignation would be in her best interest and received her (forced) resignation, the company refused to pay out PTO and referenced my partner to their HR
department. Now it’s just the run-around “we will look into it..” “please speak with so-and-so for further..”. We're both poor musicians so it was actually heartbreaking when they said they would be holding onto the PTO. I work for the same company and have received no such treatment. I’m not sure if it’s cause I’m a man or because I generally stand up for myself, but there is no excuse for this. We do the exact same job. I’m just screaming into the void here because big Co. generally wins. Rant over
