According to second shift it's “childish” of me to expect to be paid for my time, instead of being on the floor, in my gear, at my station no where near the time clock, 7+ minutes before I'm even being paid, so that they can go get out of their gear and leave on time. (Which is company policy btw)
This isn't even legal in the state of Wisconsin, but everyone here is so brainwashed and “we've been doing it this way for 40 years, it must be right” or “we have over 500 employees, if it wasn't legal someone would have sued by now”. And of course since it's a higher paying factory job all the employees are middle class conservatives who think I'm the devil any time I mention a union.
Been here 4 weeks and my patience is wearing thin, but it's also the best paying place within an hours drive of me…
