Veterinary worker shortage? What’s the deal?

So my cat’s vet’s office recently started playing an automated message before their ringtone saying something like “please be patient with us. Due to the shortages in the veterinary field you may be experiencing longer than usual hold times”. Now I’m not trying to immediately call bullshit, but it smells to me like they could hire another secretary but they’re too cheap. I used to be a scheduler for people doctor’s offices only a couple years ago and they didn’t require any specialized program. But I will tell them they’re being an ass if required lol. I really like our vet and don’t want to change or have the place run into the ground if they’ve started using a cheapskate manager.
