So I work at a car wash, I sell auto glass so all my job is to get people their windshields fixed or replaced for FREE through insurance and sell tint vinyl car wrap simple things. The only money I’ll make is commission, other than that it’s $12 an hour and I live in a city that is not very cheap but can’t afford to leave and am also married to the love of my life with a baby girl on the way. It’s my first ever sales job and it’s very hard for me to get ANYTHING. When I applied initially it said it was hourly plus commission but it’s actually only hourly unless the commission is more than that then I get just the commission. Today I was casually talking to a customer, not even selling anything to him as he was already being help for a tint by another person, but I was just informing him that when he does need a windshield replacement to come back and if there is already pre existing tint I would do the same thing for no additional cost at the time of replacement for him. End of conversation walk away and minding my own business. Minutes later the person originally helping him aggressively approaches me and very loudly says “ you just f@cked me out of a $240 tint sale!” And I said woah woah what? What do you mean? In a calm manner and he still very closely to me loudly says “he says you can claim it on his insurance and do it for free when I was already getting the money for it and you need to just stay the fuck out of it!” So I started getting angry and said first of all mf back tf up unless you want to get knocked tf out, second of all you don’t get to disrespect me just because you’re a 50 year old convict we are working at the same fucking place dude. And he cuts me off and yells stay the F out of it next time! So I yelled back IM GONNA DO MY JOB DUMBA$$ YOU DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO.
I’m super frustrated. I already make minimum wage for my area and don’t get paid enough to deal with that behavior. What should I do?
