Last week, I started a new job at UPS. I had quit my previous job as a janitor to work there (which was a mistake).
Yesterday was a very busy day. Having only had 2 days prior of training, my boss called me in ALONE. I did my best to help the customers yet it was very stressful.
2 Hours in, an employee came in and took my spot at the register. I had nothing else to do so I asked my manager what I could do to help yet I was ignored. “I’m busy, one second” she said.
A couple minutes later, she then was visibly frustrated with me and asked me “WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE. THERE IS WORK TO DO.”
There I was, being told off and humiliated in front of a large line of people. When I asked if I could help her, she ignored me. When I stand there WAITING FOR HER ANSWER she gets mad at me.
So I quit on the spot. I grabbed my things and walked out. Left my shift 2 hours early.
I am sick of the bullshit. I can’t stand nor respect bosses who don’t respect and assist their employees.
TLTR: Boss gets mad at me for standing around yet is too busy to tell me what to do. I walked out.
