Not as fresh as some of the other posts but I quit my job on Sunday night. Been there for 9 months.

Got called in for an extra shift because it was projected to be busy. And as I’m doing my job, my boss asks me couple questions to get set up as well.

When I didn’t have the answer for one of the questions, he slammed the table and yelled furiously why should I pay you. (His usual behavior).

Now normally I would take it, say sorry boss what can I improve on but I have had enough of this bs. I responded with you pay me because I make more money for you than you pay me.

Argument ensues. After the shift ended I went home, analyzed the situation and then told said boss I quit.

Hard call to walk away from the promised money but when the person who promised it is not trustworthy, I don’t see the point in staying.
