My brother currently works in the vision center at Walmart, and has worked for the pharmacy there for almost 12 years before that. He has no previous issues with employment, has never been warned or written up for anything, and he's one of the highest paid and most educated/experienced employees of his store. He's recently had some health issues and was told by his doctor to stay home for five days. He got approved for the time off, and had used all of his PTO/Sick time. He returned to work today to discover he was nearly fired while he was gone, because Walmart doesn't care if you have a doctor's note or are deathly ill. Thankfully his manager overrode it, but he was told they can only do it once. If he gets sick again, he either risks losing his job or not being able to take time off to recover.
Of course, Walmart also lowered how much PTO and Sick Time you can earn throughout the year. So, essentially, Walmart doesn't care if you get everyone in the store (including customers) sick, and if you try to take care of yourself and those around you, you're immediately fired.
Shame on you Walton family. Your father would be ashamed and embarrassed of what you've done to his legacy.
