Hey guys, i'm usually a lurker on this subreddit but i wanted some advice regarding a situation at work. So today i had to start training to know how to use these old hard drives, computers and more in depth knowledge with the linux system.
Before, i was working with my co worker, who is in IT, basically running and copying data from a shipment of CDS, fairly simple work, and i got to know alot of basic knowledge of the linux, nothing too in depth tho. I even got to use some of the hard drives for a bit but it wasn't as constant as the CDs. Right now i had to start this training to go into more depth, but tbh i really want to back out of it and continue on doing other work in my department, before i did work on old paperwork and files.
There are two reasons why i really don't want to back out, one is that i will not have work for a while since i am only a casual at my workplace currently, and will have to wait for more work with my usual department, with which i don't know when is coming. Two i uh don't really want to make it seem i'm lazy and that i just don't want to work, especially to the hr boss.
Other than this pickle, i'm always putting myself out there, helping out others with work when i can, but this is just the one time i don't want to continue.
Currently i'm applying for alot of jobs right now but not getting anything back atm but money isn't really an issue.
Anyways thats it for me hahaha but yeah would really appreciate some advice; also just wanted to add i work in Australia too.
Thanks!
