I work(ed) at a large chain pizza franchise as a driver. Texted manager 20 minutes before shift saying I would be 5 minutes late. Manager proceeds to insult me calling me an idiot when I arrived (which was 4 minutes late just saying) and telling me that I am always late (which is a lie. When I am late, which is very rarely, I always give a heads up to the manager in charge who has never been this manager, but is never and has never been an issue as it's understood that traffic is a thing). I take a few deliveries until I return to a write up slip saying that I am always late and that I was 8 minutes late; to which I pointed out that I was actually 4 minutes late and had him cross out and replace with pencil. I worked full time there and also pay 950 a month in rent (California). I asked him what would happen to me when I signed the write up and he told me a week without pay. I can't just go a week without pay so I told him I had no choice but to quit, clocked out and started to leave so I could go find a new job when he grabbed my shirt from the back, turned me around, and started to yell ad-hominem insults at me in my face. I told him that he was human garbage and that he had no right to insult me, and then proceeded to walk out of the store and leave. I now am looking for a new job to pay my rent. TL;DR: My former manager until 2pm today is a complete asshole who deserves an ass beating.
