I’ve worked at a legal dispensary for nearly the past 2 months. I applied for the job wanting to be a budtender and when it came to the job offer it was a bait and switch to have me use my car for a “hybrid” position of making deliveries and budtending.
I let them know I wasn’t too stoked on delivering, I learned very quickly that it didn’t make much money and I did not feel safe using my expensive to me, nice car with the way that people drive in my city. One accident and I’m out of a car.
The nail in the coffin was one of the delivery drivers was robbed at gunpoint on the job. I have personal
Experience of getting robbed at gunpoint in the middle of the night when I was asleep in my bed. The dispensary that I worked at had me delivering first thing the next morning after not changing anything in their delivery protocol. I reiterated to my bosses that I really did not feel safe now, told them about my personal experience and they basically told me to suck it.
They didn’t value my safety so I told them that my car was broken (it wasn’t) and that I used public transportation to get there (I didn’t). I’m obviously a terrible liar and they found out within 3 days that my story wasn’t real. I felt like they forced my hand in continually asking me to do something that I absolutely did not feel comfortable with doing and eventually I had to do what’s best for me and to keep me safe cause those bozos did not care.
The owner pulled me in to the room and proceeded to berate, gaslight and insult me. He then shook my hand telling me he want going to fire me then 2 hours later he fired me.
I’m not sorry that I value my life over making 16 bucks an hour bringing a stoner some weed.
