Was fired with no warning or discussion yesterday. Boss told me I “don't have the dedication they desired” when I asked him to elaborate he said “I cant” I asked if it was because I had taken that day off after we had worked 6 hours Sunday (doing stuff way outside my job description I applied for a desk job with WFH possibility) 12 hours Saturday and 12 hours Friday and 10.5 hours thrusday(straight no lunch for all of it) despite my normal hours being mon-fri 8-5. His response was “you didn't make it clear that you'd be gone the whole day”. I made it clear I wouldn't be in Monday at all but if I could make it for the latter half of the day I would try, your response was “ok”.
pretty sure you just used me as a wage slave to get passed a big project lying to me all the way about the position I would hold and dumped me when it was convenient for you. Hooray for living in an at will state.
oh and didn't find out until I was their day 1 that I was hired through a temp agency.
