Some stressful and disappointing news was handed to us through our managers.
I left a better paying job 6 months ago for this job particularly because it’s remote work/ work from home (hybrid if we need to go in office for physical task 5-10% days).
Today our managers told us that the decision is being made to be back in office, 5 days a week. With a months notice and with no exception mentioned as of yet. And to return remote equipment. My team is primarily remote based for design it helps, and some employees currently work remote from other states.
What can I, we do? Everyone is unhappy wondering why, or how we can prevent this from happening. They are basing it off increasing productivity and blaming us for the lack of ability to take on new contracts.
I plan to bring up to HR and ask for medical exemption, and bring up the fact that I changed from one job to another being misled with remote work. (Even in my offer letter it says that). I feel like that can have some legal consequences for them. Or somebody coming down with Covid because this ruling. Bc
