Was informed today that I’ll be loosing most of my annual Christmas leave when practically nobody else is

My job is done pretty remotely where people have to move here for but I happen to be from the area because I followed my dad’s footsteps and took the same career path he did. At work we never really get time off aside from the odd day here and there and Christmas time. Every year we usually get from December 22nd till early January off (January 9th this year) but we need a skeleton crew of about 4 people in in each day incase shit goes haywire (yes this includes Christmas day) since my boss realized I was from the area he made the great decision of putting me on the skeleton crew for the 27th, the 28th, the 30th, overnight on the 31st (new years eve) and January 4th and offered me 2 days off once the Christmas break period is over instead spreading the shifts with people…

Like um excuse me i’d like to spend the holidays with my family too, thanks.
