Antiwork

Was just reminded that I’m just a number. A figure.

I’ve worked for this place for a long time. Been reliable and one of the most experienced employees on my shift. I was pulled aside and was told the client we work for wants to slash the budget. Best way to do that is to get rid of someone. Me. It makes ZERO sense. The least experienced and the greenest guy on the shift gets to stay. I don’t hold that against him. Even if they got rid of him to try to keep me, it would still be over budget. Plus my work load has to be divided between the remainder. Other shift is untouched. Even though our shift has some of the strictest of time frames to be able to work on something.
