We are understaffed and our work load is high bc of it

My client as at a work site that I planned for our two crews. The site is odd and I did t have much time for planning. So I made all necessary arrangements and set my crews loose. I understood the foreman’s of the crews would need extra input from me so I’ve provided that several times and they are understanding of the work that needs done (very good formen). The client walks the site with a new hand on the crews and calls me asking about the plan for the site. He says he and this new guy didn’t understand the plan, but it is said in a accusatory way and not an information seeking way. The client says I need to tell the crews what needs to be done there- which he knows I already have. I understand I did not put the time in to set it…

I understand I did not put the time in to set it and forget it but I have made myself available. But is the client being rude or ignorant to walk the site and accuse me of not doing my job?

To add. This work is not complex and my formans know what to do. They have been in this industry 2-3 times longer than I
