“We don’t do virtual interviews”

“Ever? For anyone?” “No” “Why not?” “I don't have the answer to that” I live in NC and I am trying to relocate to NV. I put out some applications and I got called to schedule an interview and I let them know I am on North Carolina, it is also clearly listed on my application and resume that I am still employed in North Carolina, so I request a virtual interview and the above conversation ensues. S I ask for someone who does have the answer. Someone else calls me back and says only the hiring manager does virtual interviews and she's not doing them. Again why? She can't say. So can I speak to the hiring manager so she can explain to why a virtual interview is not an option. Now I am waiting for a call back. On the one hand I feel like I am being…

On the one hand I feel like I am being really rude and disrespectful by pushing the issue but on the other hand what are they gonna do not interview me, they already decided that, I have nothing to lose. Also why in this world would a virtual interview not be an option. That's ridiculous for so many reasons.

And I am actually really proud of myself for not following my first instinct which was to back down and give up on the job the first time she said they don't do virtual interviews.
