We just had our best fiscal quarter in company history? Time to go back to the office!

Deciding to vent here a little bit cause I know people here will somewhat relate. In general, I’m happy with my company and I’ve been here for almost 5 years, but we had a pretty comical company wide meeting last week. Our CEO goes through the last quarters numbers and announces that we had the best quarter we have ever had in our 20+ year history. He then proceeded to explain the return to office plan, which included starting with 2 days per week and will eventually go back to mostly full time in the office, even though we have been remote since March 2020 with only a few exceptions. The chat in the virtual meeting was just eviscerating the decision, with comments like “the most successful quarter in company history…was all remote” and talking about how the leadership doesn’t listen to their employees feedback. My role will have more flexibility since I’m in sales and a lot of reps were fully remote even before COVID, but I think it’s hilarious how out of touch they are. I wish I could see their surprised pikachu faces when we have a mass exodus over the next few months.
