I work at a franchised coffee shop (not the one you all probably think of first) and our wages are actually a joke. Starting wage is $11, shift leads make $11.30 – $11.50 and the assistant manager makes $12.25. We are a super busy location and often after my shift I'm so sore I cannot move. We have a drive through and our lobby is open and often I'm bouncing back and forth taking drive orders and in house customer orders as well as making whatever drinks I can help with in order to keep up with the demand. We are literally breaking our bodies. Last week we had someone walk out. And this week another decided to stop showing up. Now we have a total of 5 employees. The company sets up training and position priorities to be 3 people working per shift. That's just not possible here. There are not enough people. I want to organize a strike with our location and other locations but we are not unionized. Does anyone have any advice on striking while not unionized? Do we need to put in a notice first that we are going to strike?
