So I've been lurking this sub ever since I found it some months back and wanted to share some of the insanity that's been tossed my and some coworkers way.
I work at a fabrication shop that got bought out by a bigger company last year. Not only did they not live up to the promises they'd made, which didn't shock me in the slightest, but they've upped production what feels like 5 or six times more. I'm down in the paint shop so I can't speak for the main shop but we had to blast and paint 3 clarifiers last year across about six months. Big things and took all the time on hand.
We're looking at about 18 clarifiers at the moment this year not considering other jobs that might get added on and they've scheduled the whole of the paint shop for weekends probably going into a month and a half to maybe two months. If they're fabricated right the first time. I'm already having a fun time finding the energy to keep my place tidy and taken care of and I'm dreading the shit show that I'm about to be facing. On top of that people are telling me to stay after work to practice welding because there's plans to move me to the main shop, which would royally fuck over the already fucked over paint shop Just seriously what in the actual fuck.
