Welcome to capitalism, where the wages are made up and the prices doesn’t matter

I'm sure this isn't a unique post but I felt like telling it to someone. I live in a pretty depressed economic area. For reference the rent I paid on my last apartment (which was really nice) was only $550 a month. During the pandemic I took a night auditor job at a hotel. (Frivolity Inn) Pay was crap ($10/hr), but I could avoid people easily. Hotel was a real mess though, tons of rooms out of order, prices were as low as $60 a night. Even in the busy season I don't think I ever saw a room price hit $100. A few weeks ago I took a job at another hotel 20 miles away. Same area, much better hotel though (Frampton) where the prices are more than double. Some rooms even go for $160 a night. Pay is EXACTLY the same between these two hotels. Had a great…

Had a great interview Friday and I'm expecting a job offer come Monday with lots more money, regular hours and health insurance and I just can't wait to tell them I'm quitting. 2 people have already left this summer for better pay. The GM is gonna hit the roof because the guy who “trained” me for 2 days just left for a better job lol.
