I made an error for a deadline at my new job that’s going to be hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Basically I thought the deadline was Friday when it was Monday. It’s a federal deadline with no prospects for mitigation.
I’m waffling between my old-school “yeah I’d fire me too” and things I’m trying to learn
“I’m sorry I made a mistake after 6 weeks. It was my first solo mission after very erratic training. I’ve adjusted my notes, revised my wfh hours voluntarily to make sure my training continues and will never make that mistake again. “
There’s literally nothing I can do but learn from it.
So why am I sitting home on a Saturday morning freaking out? I don’t even like the work. The company has been surprising for corporate America and the other employees are freaking amazing.
The salary increase was 34% as well before benefits which I didn’t have before.
I didn’t try to hide it or make an excuse if that helps. I just plain had it wrong.
I hate being a grown up
