I posted earlier this week about getting hired by a fast food place after struggling badly for months, and being worried I would get fired because they wanted to do a full credit check.
Well, I think the credit check came through and I no longer have the job.
I was hired Monday and the district manager said as soon as I got all my onboarding paperwork in she would get me on the schedule for the very next day and I would be able to work the one or two weeks it usually takes to get the background and credit checks back.
I completed all my onboarding Monday afternoon. The district manager asked if I could start the next day and I said yes. She never responded then Tuesday asked me if I could start later this week. I said yes. Then Wednesday she said she would send me the general managers number and have her call me to get me set up for training next Tuesday. It's been radio silence since. I have called the district manager and texted her since and have gotten no answer and no response. I called the store and never got an answer. I canceled two other interviews for Tuesday and Wednesday this week because I had been hired and completed onboarding and was told I would start this week.
I'm panicking since I'm not getting a response at all. Someone from Reddit was amazing and sent me some money to help. I bought groceries and a bus pass to get to work next week, and paid my phone bill so I could keep my phone on to communicate with my new job.
Idk what to do. I only have the store number and the district managers number.
I'm feeling hopeless. If they don't get back to me idk what the fuck to do.
