Disclaimer, this is not a story about me, one of my coworkers was out for 2 weeks and each of us have roughly 100-200 clients assigned to us
When she came back she told me she had found out both her parents had died and was taking care of there estate and just dealing with it as best she could, at the end of the 2nd day after she came back she called me and said she just wanted to stop talking to clients for a few min, to which i was fine with.
She told me some truly shitty things, her clients were wondering why she was out, which is understandable, her response to all of them was “o i was just out of the office but i am back now”
Her clients were fucking awful, they were literally demanding to know why she was not there. saying things like
“I need to know when your not in the office, how dare you not tell me, we were working with other people for 2 weeks and it was really weird for us!” and not letting things go when she said she was out.
On a few of them she responded with
“well i found out that both my parents fucking died, and i was on bereavement leave to deal with it, is that acceptable to you” and they were like…..”….oh im sorry” she didn't even let them finish there “apology” and cut them off,
“I don't fucking work for you, you know that right, i am not on call for your whims and if im out of the office someone else can help, are we going to have any more problems”
i was so pissed off for her, our boss was honestly fine with the outburst as anyone would be, but for fuck sake clients are so needy. If your a client of another company and someone tells you they were out of the office. Leave it alone its none of your business
