“We’re one big family here”

Just a heads-up to anyone under 30 or starting out in their careers. If you ever attend an interview and hear the manager you're interviewing with say something like “we're one big family here” then please if you have other options don't take the job It's taken a while (near middle age now) but I've finally realised that the reason this is said in many workplaces is that those working there are putting so much time into work that it leaves no time for actual family or friends outside of it. When colleagues start to become “your family” it's a problem. Do you agree/disagree?
