This week has been a hot one in southwestern MI. The past two days have been the first 90*degree temperatures we have seen this year. Our normal 35 minute lunch got extended to 55 both days, With no additional work time added to the schedule ( as of today). In addition they have been passing out cold water, gateraid and yesterday they passed out freeze pops. (The supervisors have been reminding me of barbacks. Carrying ice, cases of drinks, filling coolers working for us. It feels proper, we are making the “DRINKS” for the customers)
A Few of the old timers I discussed it with ( one guyz been there 17 years ) said they never had an extended lunch because of heat. If this trend changes or we are penalized for lost production I will be back with an update…
