I am so annoyed. I am hybrid, mostly WFH though and it has changed my life. No more staring at lifeless cubicles all day, having to dress in office attire, more freedom to stretch, etc…
But the email today started off letting everyone know our bonuses may not be as good as past years. CEO said that we were not living up to our potential. Said it wasnt economic reasons in his opinion, we were not working with excellence.
Then went to saying we need the team back in office. My favorite quote out of it all is “Team members that are choosing to be absent from the office, instead of being in the trenches with their teams.”
The whole thing felt condescending. CEO throwing shade on people who WFH.
On top of that I have been dealing with health issues for the last two months that have caused a lot of stress in my life and been really hard to manage. I am getting back to normal, but just the week I started to feel better I had a one on one meeting with my boss and was told I was underperforming. I had to sign something acknowledging I was not upholding the integrity of the work place and would be let go if I “bring the company down” so to speak with my performance. I am under evaluation for the next 3 months. Honestly not a great feeling.
Just venting. I dont understand why the workplace is so toxic at times.
