So I've been unemployed for a bit now(not by choice), but got an interview for a job that was almost exactly the same duties that I had been doing at a previous job that I left just last year. I go in for my interview and nail it, they say I'll I'm the only applicant they've interviewed so far with any applicable experience and that I should get a call next week if they want me to come in for a second interview. So I wait, and I wait, and next week Friday around 2 or 3 pm they finally call me back after waiting until practically the last minute. Whatever, I go in for a second interview on Wednesday and meet the manager. Find out he's replacing almost his entire team in the department I'm applying for because they are unreliable, calling out sick at least once a week, and none of them are ever willing to come in to cover on their days off. Makes a big deal about wanting someone reliable and that he wants someone who will never call in sick, or will only call in sick literally one day a year and will always come in on their days off if called.
Sounds like a red flag but whatever, I honestly want to get back to work and if it really is a shitty wok environment then I can just leave after making some money. So I nail that interview as well and am told that I should hear back Friday or Monday if they choose to hire me. So I wait, and I wait, and Monday passes, then Tuesday, and I figure that for some reason they decided I wasn't the right fit despite doing pretty much the exact same job for a different company for over 2 years.
Suddenly on Wednesday I get a call from them saying that I got the job and they wanted me to come in to discuss terms, like my schedule, pay, training and such. I let my family know about the new job because they've been worrying about me being unemployed and I go in the next day happy and ready to talk terms. Only I get there and go to the back with the manager to talk terms and suddenly I'm not hired, this has become a third interview because he wants the person who will be my supervisor to interview the final candidates as they will be the one to be working directly with me. I'm super annoyed but whatever, I nail that interview as well. I'm told that they'll be hiring 3 people and it's down to myself and 3 others and they'll call me back in a couple days to let me know what they decide. Never hear from them again.
Fucking bastards wasted hours of my time, falsely told me I got the job only to pull the rug out from under me, and don't even have to courtesy to call me after and inform me I wasn't chosen for some inane reason or another. I'm going to laugh if I see them hiring again in a few months after the new hires realize what a toxic shitshow that place probably is.
