So i work for a mid size company, recently i was promoted from a sister location to an older location, where instead of working by myself I'm meant to manage about 10 repair technicians and their activities, the previous manager had a lot of stink to say about her team, to the point she got someone else fired with her, she has a mayor in processing and mid management. So i interviewed the technicians so i could pin point her complaints and it turns out they're lovely people, eager to work and that understand that companies have processes, the past manager would refuce to explain her documents and just told people to read them, one of the techs even gave me a list of corrections to her documentation where she ommited to add the respective areas that needed to be notified of our activities.
Pretty much makes me wonder, what do they tell managers to do at school? Do they tell you people won't quit? Do they tell you people just do as you say cause you went into debt to have it in a nice paper that you're the boss? Her procedures are great for efficiency and have our boss on the clouds but what's the point if the people below you will dissobey them out of spite cause you think you are so above everyone else.
