I work for a company that does the point system for attendance. Each person starts with 15 points and gains 1 point back for every full month worked without calling out, but you don’t get more than 15. The system is as follows:
- No Call No Show (3 points)
-Unexcused absence (2 points)
-unexcused late (1 point)
-unexcused leave early (2 points)
-missed punch (1 point)
You get 5 vacation days after a year of service, and the standard 56 hours of pto, but the kicker is, you don’t just get those hours, you have to accumulate them, they go by giving you 1 hour of pto for every 30 hours worked. This means with a standard 40 hour work week you would have to work about a month and 3 weeks before accumulating enough for 1 day off. They don’t offer sick days, or pay for when they flood several times a year and say that’s what pto is for. They also put a minimum of 4 hours of pto that you can use so if you have a Dr appointment and need to leave an hour early, you can’t use 1 hour of pto for that.
TL;DR Just wondering what you guys think of point systems for attendance and substituting pto for sick days, and what your point systems look like if you have one.
