I was reading Lee Drutman’s book “Breaking the Two Party Doom Loop,” and it got me thinking about the need for a multi-party system (and more importantly, a collection of parties that are committed to worker rights). What do you think it’ll take for there to be a genuine political movement that makes this sort of systemic change possible? Are there more effective ways of political organizing, or are we simply too constrained by our current circumstances (monopolistic platform companies, a broken FEC, systems of lobbying and dark money financing, etc.)? I’m trying to stay optimistic but it’s hard – this community gives me hope, so I wanted to hear what you all have to say.
