There is a saying that is common in order to go ahead in the work place. It's not what you know, it's who you know. Networking plays a huge role, but it seems too it leaves out people who have a lot of potential but get left out because they weren't friends.
I think career advancement has become a joke since the 2007 financial crisis. I graduated in 2008 from college and later for grad school in 2019. I worked on myself all these years to get noticed and interviews and I've been employed in one position for a local company though getting promoted. I've seen people who are less than qualified for positions they got.
Work now doesn't even support getting a mortgage or even renting an apartment is insane. I'm grateful to live with family, but I'm getting tired of it.
Is anyone sick of playing this game? I'm just tired sometimes.
Has anyone been through this? I just want to see I'm not alone.
