I have been curious about this for a long time.
All my coworkers said that unions are “for the weak, lazy” and so on.
A union has been coming outside the factory with signs telling people to join, and the factory has been firing any and all who even speak to them. My coworkers have been saying “good, unions just want to take hard working people's money!”
I said to one coworker that a union may be a good thing and he said “have you ever worked with a union? You'll get your pay cut and work longer hours! Unions are corrupt and just want to steal money!”
The corporation had a meeting with us and said that they don't regret terminating anyone who speaks to the union. And people cheered. Saying it's good to fire anyone who is interested in the union.
My cousin is in a union and he works 7 days a week with very bad pay, and says it's the unions fault, if there was no union he claims, the pay would be better.
So if unions are so great? Why do so many people hate them?
