“What is a problem that the department is currently facing?” “We’re short staffed.”

Had an interview with a company the other day and when I asked this question to the director who I was interviewing, I was certainly not expecting that answer. It was already a department of maybe 6-8 people and in his answer, he told me that two people have left recently “because of the great resignation”… I reached out first thing the following morning to withdraw my application, without giving a reason why so they could continue to shoot themselves in the foot lmao The cherry on top? They had the balls to send me a “you have not been selected for this position” email the following day. These kinds of people really are that out of touch.
