Employees have a discreet number of clients they work on. So they might be assigned two. Again, there are no hourly transactions involved anywhere.
But management wants all the tasks tracked in Harvest by the hour.
The kicker is that they assign a crazy hourly rate to determine if the client is “profitable” (like $300 an hour when mostly Phillipines employees are getting paid less than $10 an hour when you break their salary down to that level…although they are paid a yearly salary) and get mad if the maximum number of arbitrary hours is exceeded. They call the client “unprofitable” based on that $300 number and berate the employees.
People are supposed to put “excess time” down after those maximum hours are hit and do “self-training”.
But the max hours are never reasonable and everyone ends up spending their whole week on their clients.
Then the boss threatens layoffs due to imaginary un profitability.
Why even track this time if people are being paid in salaries and clients aren’t being charged by the hour?
