Iam Male under 30..India.
Jumped to IT service field after few of failed home business and personal tragedy.
It was a strong referral which got me in.
I worked 3years so far with this 20 years old startup.
I'm in a team which is a micro aswell as important one.
My TL/manager is so loyal to the bosses of organization and takes in unwanted job to satisfy them often. He is 8 years with them..never formed a team till I got in.
He speaks to both sides but the results were always positive for the higher officials.I was often pushed to do basic jobs which are level of admin since he also does the same as ordered by bosses.
I was asked to complete two certifications, which I completed within deadline. Despite of all these stuffs I work for atleast 3 saturdays in a month ., yeah..same here – My TL would also work on most sundays(no information on what hw works though).
Say he always showcases that he is available 24 *7 and takes tasks worth of 3 persons.
Getting to the core issue now – There was only four appraisal in the past 3 years of my journey. Since first year is not included by rule.I hardly have gotten the hike of only of 30% till now of the first salary I was offered with. I started smelling pungent smoke for the first time when my TL phoned me while it was already year end appraisal. He stressed the following sentences as sandwich inbetween a casual talk.
“I see that you have gotten avg hike this time..it was all my fault! I must have alloted you huger credit worthy tasks. I assure you that I will route you higher tasks within next appraisal(which is on june)”
Till now, there is no any traces of such thing that he promised. Parallely only colleague of our team resigned and moved to a better job, inbetween he worked for only 18 months. I have many confusions and mind oscillations., say – I'am the only bread winner and also this current work place provides no time sheets(which is helping to cook and take care of my sick family members)
I also recieved Indirect push from referrer (always connected to the same work circle as my TL in) person that I should not be resigning be right now. The person also insists me that the management would sure put me in a 3months notice period since it is a major team but micro one considering also the factor that one of the resource left us.
The conclusion : A team lead/manager.. who do all the tasks say 75-80% which are credited highly. But in HR and bosses meetings he would speak as if we work as a team. Even If we interfere it is not valid technically.
There is no replacement made for person relieved from our team, since he left – I'am getting more basic tasks as I told before., like what I get.Shoul I write off this guy in my resignation letter or just resign?
