In what I can only describe as my exit interview HR promised to pay out what I was owed from the week's prior paycheck which was missing, and to not fight my unemployment claim. I didn't get it in writing because it was a conversation over the phone and so I sort of expected what came today. They didn't pay out the extra they owed from the prior check in my final check, I'm confident this means they will also be fighting my unemployment claim. What can I do? I was fired without prior incidents in my boss's fit of rage, when I talked to HR they tried saying I left without permission (I was told to leave and not come back) when I left and that my boss had not fired me he was just upset and didn't mean it. I think they're going to continue to say I wasn't fired but that I left without permission. I'm just wondering what people would recommend doing, outside of lying, I won't lie. There's a lot that led to this incident, do those things matter?
Tldr: been screwed a bunch by ex employer, trying to make sure I get my unemployment if possible any tips?
