Parents own a donut shop and are trying to hire employees who can work from 5am-noon Wednesday-Sunday. Mom thinks this “type of work” should pay max $12 and doesn’t understand that it’s not the 80s anymore. I, as an antiwork enthusiast/millennial know that it’s a crock of bullshit and people need to be paid enough to have a good standard of living.
Duties include taking customers, mopping, restocking drinks, wiping down counters. Store is crazy busy and hectic due to high volume. I’m telling my mom it should be at LEAST $20/hour but what do y’all think is an appropriate wage? We live near San Antonio in Texas, if that helps.
