What would you think if it became a law that workers got profit sharing across the board?

I haven't really thought this out yet so don't flame me too hard but I just had a thought that it would be cool if it became mandatory that employees got a percentage of the profits of the companies they work for. Let's say they make it a 60% of the profits go to the employees and 40% to C level and above. Would that go any way to alleviating the workers crisis we see today?
