Online reviews can make or break tour companies. The more 5 star reviews a biz has, the more likely ppl will book with them. Good reviews are an invaluable source for future business.
I worked for a tour company that would “reward” their employees for every 5 star review that mentioned their name with handmade scratch and win tickets. Assuming you got a winner, you’d be rewarded with $10 gift certificates to random places; Dunkin’s, Starbucks, Apple, REI, jersey Mike’s. I had earned over 100 scratch and wins tickets. Only 4 of those 100 ended up being winners. Basically 1 in 25.
I wonder how much future business the tour company will generate from my 100+ five star reviews. The way management rewarded me, each effort on my part was only worth a 40 cent bonus.
