What’s the point of the system if they don’t even enforce it?

Hi. This is kind of a vent. I worked for a Hot Head Burritos a couple months ago. Worked overtime but wouldn't get paid past 9:30 despite working until around 11, my shift leaders would just sit on their phones doing nothing, and since I was the only one who worked they expected me to get everything in the store done while everybody else did nothing. I would get blamed for everything, even if it wasn't on my list of tasks (I would do much much more than listed every day), and they would pocket our tips! I was living check-to-check and was barely making ends meet because they would nickle-and-dime everything, or not pay me the full amount of hours I worked, and I was just tired all the time. The end of the line was when they accused me of being on METH because I have DARK EYES…

The end of the line was when they accused me of being on METH because I have DARK EYES (I've had dark eyes my whole life) and I just quit. After quitting, they didn't give me my last check.

Well, due to me living paycheck to paycheck, I was 200 short on my rent and had to be evicted. I tried everything to get my check before the deadline, calling every division I could, and none of them doing anything. The only action I got, was the division of labor calling them, and the Hot Head staff lying about everything so they didn't do any further action. I left everything behind. My broken down car, my bike, half of my belongings, and the apartment complex charged me 3,000 dollars, which is still unpaid.

I now live with my grandmother and finding a job has been harder than ever. The only job I've been able to get so far, a manager told me the wrong time to come in on the first day and the GM fired me for coming in at said time. Life has been kicking me in the groin lately. I just don't see any point anymore with this system, it's clearly just a front they put up to pretend they care.
