Apologies if this is the wrong sub.
I’ve been badgered by this recruiter for over a month to consider interviewing for a similar role to what I have currently. I was not and am not looking to move but she’s been insistent that I would be a good fit for this company.
The recruiter wouldn’t disclose the salary at first, so I politely declined any further conversation about the job and said if I didn’t know the salary- I didn’t want to waste any more of my time.
She went radio silent for about a week, then came back to me and disclosed that the company would pay up to €75k per year. This is a good bump from where I am now, but I didn’t tell the recruiter this. I said I would speak to her about the role to learn more and consider going to interview for the company.
Over the call, she kept pressing me asking what my current salary is. I didn’t disclose this but this is where I’m stuck.
Do I technically need to disclose this? I would never tell them the absolute truth anyway but I thought it was odd to want to know my salary and my salary expectations when we only briefly discussed the role for 15 minutes.
I also don’t think they need to know at this point as they will use this against me if it’s considerably lower than the max offer. They also offer NO BENEFITS which to me, is insane.
Thoughts?
