I'm currently working a job where we work 6-2:30 M-F. I enjoy the work I do but the union contract will begin negotiations soon and I have been talking to some of my coworkers about going to a 4/10 schedule. I previously had a job working 4/10s and I really liked having a 3 day weekend. Even when we worked OT, having 2 days off was much more enjoyable than only 1. Additionally, most of my coworkers commute 30min-45min each way, so, that would be an extra 1.5 hours a week they would have to themselves. It just seems to make sense to me. Can anyone add some input on the pros and cons of such a schedule? Or an alternate schedule you've worked and enjoyed.
